Ok so it’s been a long while now where I have been away from the site, for many reasons! Depression, Lack of motivation, Lack of Interest, not had ample amouts of time, life ect the list goes on.
Lets have a little inside picture of my life, I’ve been depressed for a long time now. Maybe since I was a child I’m not completely sure but the fact is that this has had a huge impact on the way I live my lif. I left school at the age of 14 though bullying and if you have ever been bullied for years you will understand where I’m coming from it was either leave school, go in with a knife or kill myself… I chose the correct path to take!
I’ve moved about all my life been in over 24 different primary schools and 2 high schools while still leaving at 14! Life for me has never been simple and this is where you might think well neither have I… Maybe you have but this is me venting my life story the best that I can and though it would have been easier for you! for someone like me that is not a very confident person and in no way a fighter this has been very very hard for me.
I think the longest I’ve been in one place is where I live now and this has been around 3 years! I only had a mother when growing up and not a very good one at that! Yea she tried but her life was always more inportant then the life of her child, me. She could never been on her own for a while and though this might sound like I wanted my mother to my self.. you would be wrong in thinking this, see my mother is scared to be alone and will jump from guy to guy to so that she is not alone and it don’t matter what the guy is like just aslong as they pay some interest in her!
When ever she wanted to leave a guy she would move! that’s move out of the Council houses in her name just to get away moving me to new areas and new schools all the time where there where new bullies to pick on me and I would have to just try and get along with this and cope.. I don’t feel like anyone ever thought about me during any of this. none of the guys that she would get with ever wanted me in the equastion either! I was just a little problem between them having her to them selfs… I’ve seen arguments in the places I’ve lived since I can remember I’ve seen her get hit by guys!!!
I’ve never lived somewhere that I could truly call home and feel safe until now, but because of the things that I’ve been though it’s still hard for me to let down my guard and feel comfortable here! though I would love to. I would say that I have very bad depression, very low confidenct self esteam and problems with any kind of social interaction.
I don’t work because of this, yea you can think I’m lazy or making excuses if you wish but think what you will I have many problems even opening the curtians when I’m alone and mostly I don’t open them! I’m tired all the time and spend almost all the time I’ve got on the computer or thinking about why I am the way I am and how I can change this!
I don’t have a doctors and going to a doctors is a very big fear of mine but before I can even think about the doctors I’ve got to get out of the house! walk on the streets! talk to people! tell someone in person my problems! each bit of what I’ve just typed seams harder and harder then the one before!
This is not even a small part of the problems or my life story but there are loads of more details that I would like to add but having problems ever typing this much so for now untill i feel ready to add more, there have been alot of changes I’ve started to feel in my self latly and I may come back with more soon because of this

Ok as you may have noticed over the Christmas and New Year period there have been no updates to adamsdvds I’m sure you can all understand why that is. However the point of this post is to let you know that in the next few days I will start to add content to adamsdvds.
I really could do with some feedback from you all to help me provide the tutorials that you need, like I have said may times before if you have any feedback what so ever I would be happy to hear from you! wheather it be good or bad I’d like to know none the less.
The tutorials that I will be focusing on will be Windows Vista tutorials tho I may start to add more into the mix maybe some Xbox 360 tutorials HTML tutoirals anything that I think may help someone. So if you are going to send in suggestions for tutorials then please don’t restrict yourself to just Windows Opearting System tutorials because I’m able to focus on a wide array of subject matters tho Microsoft Opearting Systems are my main strong point when it comes to computers but not my only!
Also over christmas one of the presents I received from my wife was an Xbox 360 which I have been spending way to much time on 3 games completed already including Halo 3 (which I’m still playing online), Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3(which I am also still playing because I’ve only completed it on easy so far!), which is why I might start to add tutorials based on another of Microsofts Systems ( Xbox 36o) if you look back through this blog you will find two tutorials on the system already.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year to you all, lets hope 2008 is the best year yet for adamsdvds.

I am thinking of adding video tutorials to this site to aid further in the ease of understanding and following them to the full extent and making is slightly more in depth.
For example I would be able to assist you in multiple out coming/situations of the same tutorial for example you may get an error or everything could be fine, well what do you do if you get the one that I’ve not counted for within my tutorials??

This post is an update on my last Xbox 360 post, where I talked about using a Bridged connection to get connected to Xbox Live.. Well me being me I had to keep trying to used what I was told I could, that being ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) because before this wouldn’t work for me.
While I was using the bridged connection I kept loosing Internet over and over again and the only thing I was able to pin this down to was the bridged connection.. as this was the only change I had made to my Internet in the time frame.. anyway that’s a long story and it turns out that NTL aka Virgin Media where the cause of my issue with intermittent Internet.
Once all this was sorted and my Internet was fine and I found out what my problem was.. and you are going to laugh your arse off, nether the less I’m going to let you in on my what was causing my stress… wait for it… I feel so embarrassed about it!
I have a Mac address on the Xbox a manual one! That I put in for (cough) some reason… and because of this I was unable to use ICS so the first, very first thing! you should do if you are having issues setting up ICS with your Xbox I would insist that you check that all your Xbox network settings are set to Automatic or default meaning you don’t change a thing from the basic settings and then try setting up your ICS and everything should be ok like it is for me now.
If you do encounter any issues while trying to set up either an ICS or Bridged connection let me know and I’ll be happy to help you if I can (Time permitting).

I am writing this tutorial because I had about 5 hours of stress while trying to do this for the first time! yes, I’m serious and it really got to me. Hopefully this tutorial will stop other people from facing the same fate as I did.
You want to connect to your Xbox Live on your Xbox 360 but you don’t have a wireless adapter or your modem is not within reach, so your going to need to share you Internet connect on your computer of laptop.
My laptop is running Windows Vista Home Premium and has a wireless connection to my router.. and that’s what I used to connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox Live and below you will find out how I managed to do this and it was not using ICS - Internet Connection Sharing because for some odd reason that would not work with Vista for me! The way that I managed to get everything working was to bridge my LAN with my Wireless… Below are the steps to take.
- Setup your Xbox 360 and your Laptop/PC
- Plug the Ethernet cable into your Xbox 360 and your Laptop/PC
- Make sure your Computer is connected to the Internet
- On your computer follow these steps:
- Click on Start to bring up your Start Menu
- Type in to the search bar network sh
- Now at the top you should see Network and Sharing Center, Click on this
- On the left hand side click on Manage Network Connections
- Highlight both your Wireless connection and your Local Area Connection (LAN)
- Right Click on one of them (Note: both should be highlighted at this point)
- Select Bridge Connections
Now the rest it quite simple its just a case of confirming everything and agreeing to anything windows asks you to do once you have done this make sure you are still connected to the Internet on your Laptop/PC as it did kick me off a few times to start with, don’t worry about this just reset your Internet.
Once you have Internet on your computer go onto your Xbox 360 and test your connection. you should now be able to acquire an IP and DNS if not then repeat this process until you succeed or try something else because this was the last method I tried and the one that happened to work for me tho other methods my work equally as well for you!

If you have visted my site in the last day or to you may have received an error or something that slightly looked like my site, or maybe you received nothing but a blank page!
I’m sorry to all that received such responses while trying to view my site, the reason for this is down to Hosted my now old hosting company, if you click on Hosted you will see that they are no longer providing Domains or Hosting as of the 15th of October 2007.
This came as quite a shock to me because there had been no proir contact from them stating that anything was a miss. I received the email from them telling me about this on the 19th!!!
So since then I have been arranging everything to move my site to a new company which is why you may have received down time from adamsvds.co.uk. Everything is back up and running fine now you should not receive any more issues from the site, if however you do find soemthing that you think is a miss please feel free to contact me and let me know.
I am now hosted with Weycrest and tho I have had a few issues moving the site over and getting everything working again, they have been quick to responde and offer good advice and quick assistance.

It’s been some time now since my last post, for this I apologise 
Now I have got some time back in my life and have been writing a few tutorials, I am going to be adding at least one tutorial per day for as long as I can. Hopefully this will be an on going thing now and I’ll actually be able to grow the site.
As you may have noticed already, the tutorials that I’ll be adding will mainly be based on Windows Vista as this is the Operating System that I am now using. Many people have been bad mouthing Vista… I’m still unsure why? maybe it is because I have quite a good understanding of computers that has made it possible for me to have a smooth transition… maybe I’m lucky… either way I’m loving Microsoft’s new version of Windows.
I will try to write and add as many tutorials as possible, hopefully making this Vista shadow that most people have disappear by making it as simple for you to use as possible and giving you the solutions to all your issues.
Once I have the cash and the time I will also be getting the whole site redesigned so that I can brand myself and give myself more of a nice welcoming image.. if anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear from you.

Thats right it’s been a while now since I’ve done anything on the site due to personal (real life) comitments. This week I’ve managed to grab a little time and I have done a little SEO work on the site, not much as I’m still struggling for time but a little none the less and they say that every little counts don’t they.
Reason why I’ve not been updating much recently can be found out by reading back in this blog, at the moment my childminder is on holiday so I’m looking after my son, he goes back next Wednesday and then I will be doing the back garden (cutting two trees down, laying decking, crazy pathing and general work) once this is all completed and I have no work left to do and no kids to look after I will start to add tutorials again.
I know it must seam like I have been saying this forever now but I’m very serious because I would love to just be able to sit down and type away at content that I can add to this site, as everyone should know the more you put into something the more you get out of it..
It’s just a matter of time now and I’m hoping sooner rather then later.
On another note, if you would like to write tutorials for the site I would be very interested to hear from you.
