How to set up DefragAll to auto run

This tutorial is a follow on from How to Defrag Multiple Drives at once and is going to show you how to auto run the file when ever you like, meaning that you can just forget about defragmenting your drives all together and concentrate on more important things. We are going to use windows Task Scheduler to set this process up and once set up that's all you'll have to do because the whole thing will then be automated from start to finish.



Step One

Click Start and Run Or Hold down the windows key and press R

Type Control Into the Run dialog box then click OK

Scroll down until you find scheduled Tasks and Double Click it.

Double Click on Add Scheduled Task

Click Next

Step Six

Click Browse.

Click on Desktop, see image below.
If you followed my example when writing the batch file in the previous tutorial your DefragAll.bat file will be located here on the (desktop) however if you saved the file somewhere else you should know where to go.

Step Eight

Locate the file DefragAll and Double Click it.

Step Nine

Select Weekly then Click Next.

Step Ten

Set the time that you would like the program to Run, usually this is best to run over night or when you are away from the computer.
NOTE: your computer must be switched on for the program to run. pic ten.

Step Eleven

Select the day when you would like the program to run.

Step Twelve

Click Next

Step Thirteen

Now type in your windows password and then again to confirm,
( the password you log into windows with )

Step Fourteen

Click Next

Step Fifteen

Click Finish

Click Finish Image

Automation Complete!

That's it you are now done, the file is set to run at the time that you specified and you don't have to worry about doing it again, also you don't have to set up multiple scheduled tasks to defrag each drive. Two or more birds with one stone!
