Windows Vista system Requirements

Below you will find the minimum system requirements for the new windows Vista, also the requirements for Vista Premium. If your computer does not at least match or advance one what you see below it is very unlikely that you can install Windows Vista.

Vista Capable System Requirements

A Microsoft® Windows® Vista capable computer has at least the following minimum system requirements.

• Minimum 800 MHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 512 MB memory
• DirectX 9 capable graphics processor
• 20 GB hard drive, with a minimum 15 GB of available hard disk space.
• Optical drive
• Audio output capability
• Internet access capability

Vista Premium Capable System Requirements

• Minimum 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 1 GB memory
• Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.
• 40 GB hard drive, with a minimum 15 GB of available hard disk space.
• DVD drive
• Audio output capability
• Internet access capability
