How To Turn Off Aero In Windows Vista

Most people like the features that Aero brings to your computer e.g the Transparency and animation affects and also the (windows key + tab) so why would you want to turn off such a nice looking feature. That's simple! alot of people don't have up to date computers that can handle of the graphic needs of Vista or there graphics memory is put under stress by features such as Aero and this can cause your computer to run slowly therefore not giving you the experience that you would like to get from your computer. So getting to the point, the following tutorial will show you how to turn off the Aero feature in Windows Vista.



Step One

Right Click on the Desktop and select Personalize.

Step Two

Click on Windows Color and Appearance.

Step Three

Click on Open classic appearance properties as shown in the image below.

Step Four

Choose a Color Scheme from the list that suits you best if you are unsure select Windows Vista Basic.

Step Five

Click Ok this will save your settings and close the window, your computer may freeze up for a moment while the graphic settings are changed.

Aero is now off

If your computer was suffering from the graphics memory used by Vistas Aero feature you should now notice a difference that you have have turned it off, remember as always if you would like to turn it back on just follow this tutorial again and select Windows Vista Aero.
