How To Disable User Account Control (UAC) In Windows Vista
With Windows Vista comes more security for the customer with that said there can for some people be to much security and this can become annoying when you have to click Continue everytime you with to install or run a program. This is called UAC or User Account Control and what this does is force you to confirm any action on your computer that could change settings. I've had Windows Vista now for about 4 months and its really started to stress me out so I thought enoughs enough lets turn this off so we can use the computer more freely.
Note: by turning this off there is a chance that your computer may be vunrable to threats this is your choice to turn this off, please if you do so atleast make sure you have decent upto date anti virus programs and the like installed and running. Also you can turn UAC back on at anytime by following this tutorial and enabling rather then disabling.
Step One
Open the start menu by click on the start button.
Step Two
Click on Control Panel.
Step Three
Select Classic View.
Step Four
Scroll down untill you find User Accounts and click on it.
Step Five
Click Turn User Account Control on or off you will then be asked to confirm this.
Step Six
Unselect Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your comptuer then click OK.
Step Seven
You will now be asked to restart your computer, you do not have to do this now. but changes will not take affect untill you do.
UAC is now off
You have now turned off UAC User Account Control and will not receive them annoying pop ups asking you to confirm every action that you take, please remember that this is at your own risk and you can turn UAC back on at any time by following this tutorial and ticking the box rather then unticking.
